CROCHET PATTERN FOR 2″ HEART

• I use a “J” hook which makes a 2″ heart.
• Make a magic loop
• Chain 3
• Half of Heart – In the loop, 3 triple crochet, 3 double crochet,
• Point of Heart – chain 1, 1 triple crochet, chain 1,
• Half of Heart – 3 double crochet, 3 triple crochet, chain 3.
• Pull the loop to tighten the center of the heart.
• Slip stitch in the center of the heart and fasten off, knotting both the tail end and the working end together at V at the center of the TOP of the heart.
• Leave the tails at least 6-8 inches long so tags can be attached.

KNIT PATTERN FOR 2″ HEART

K – knit

P – purl

Kfb – knit into the front and the back of the stitch to increase stitch count by one.

K2tog – knit two stitches together as one.

P2tog – Purl two stitches together as one.

Cast on 2 stitches

1. knit
2. Kfb twice (4st)
3. Purl
4. K1, Kfb twice, K1 (6)
5. Purl
6. K1, Kfb, K2, Kfb, K1 (8)
7. Purl
8. K1, Kfb, K4, Kfb, K1 (10)
9. Purl
10. K1, Kfb, K6, Kfb, K1 (12)
11. Purl
12. K1, Kfb, K8, Kfb, K1 (14)
13. Purl

To create the top of the heart:

Cut at least 60cm yarn, bind off by threading through 2 stitches and pulling tight. Using a needle thread the down inside edge of heart to the remaining stitches on the knitting needle.

Repeat rows 14 – 18, bind off.

Sew in any loose tails of yarn.
